How to Upload World to Realms Java
This article will guide you lot through that process of uploading your own existing Minecraft world to your Nodecraft Server.
Install the Aforementioned Modpack and Version of Minecraft on the Server
Beginning utilize the "1 Click" installer on the Nodecraft server control panel to install the same version of Minecraft, and the modpack (if applicable) that the world was created on. Uploading a world folder created on a different version of Minecraft, or a different modpack, tin atomic number 82 to problems with the world loading correctly.
Notice the "World" Binder on Your Existing Game
Go to where your Minecraft game is installed on your computer, and open the game folder. MInecraft names your world save by default to world
, unless you inverse the name to something else when yous created it. Y'all're looking for that folder proper name, or world
for default.
If you open the folder, yous should see something close to the view below.
That listing above is from a world created with a specific Modpack (in this instance, the modpack Stoneblock), so the exact files and names might exist slightly unlike. Certain files will be common to all worlds, such as level.dat
, and the folders DIM1
and DIM-i
, so this is just an example to help you make certain yous are looking at the right binder.
Use a Compression Utility to "Zip" the Entire World Folder
A nothing utility is a program that will packet all the files into one bundle, and so compress the files to make them smaller. Smaller files will mean faster uploaded. Doing this is often referred to as "zipping" the files. There are several utilities that tin can practice this, and many can be downloaded for complimentary.
We highly recommend using 7zip
, which is both free and very easy to employ. You can get it HERE. Simply download the correct version for your operating organisation, and install and set it upward. When you are set, select the whole earth binder, and zip information technology, and all of its contents.
Annotation: The Nodecraft control panel can back up uploading entire folders without "zipping" them first, but there are yet several advantages to zipping them upwardly. The files are all bundled in one package, which can be moved around on the server easier, and the files will exist smaller which ways faster uploading. If you are having trouble with the zipping role of this process, you lot tin can skip it and upload simply the whole folder.
Delete any "World" Folders Already on the Nodecraft Server
If you accept already started the server, Minecraft will accept automatically generated a new globe, in its own "world" folder. In social club to avoid defoliation, you might want to select that "globe" folder and delete it using the button at the top of the File Director view, earlier you lot upload your own.
Upload the .Nix File to your Server
Utilise an FTP Program
If the zipped files are very large, we recommend using an FTP client to manage the file upload. FTP stands for "File Transfer Protocol". It's a standardized way to connect to a remote computer, and then manage the process of uploading large files. FTP programs pause the file into smaller parts, ship them one at a fourth dimension, and keep track of which parts were received correctly at the other terminate. FTP tin even resend bits that were lost or garbled at the other end. It too had the reward of being much faster in most cases.
We have a basic guide for FTP employ in our knowledgebase which you tin discover
Hither
. We highly recommend Filezilla for this, only the guide has links to many popular programs that can be used for FTP.
Utilise Drag and Drop in the File Manager*
The File director View on the Nodecraft control panel also supports elevate and drib. Go to your server command panel, and and so click on the file manager tab on the left side. You can either click on the upload push shown beneath, or simply drag a file into the file manager window and an upload target box will appear. Release the file within the box, and the upload volition begin.
The drag and drop tin can handle adequately large files (several hundred megabytes), but is much slower than using FTP. It also has no built in spot-checking, and so if anything interrupts the process, information technology will fault out, and you may take to start over again.
Unzip the File
But select the uploaded archive from your File Director, and a button labelled "unzip" will announced at the top (or unrar etc. if you chose a different format). Click it, follow the prompts, and information technology will automatically unzip the files. If done successfully, you will have the same earth folder from your computer on the server!
Change the Settings to Utilise the Folder
Minecraft automatically names all worlds it creates earth
, and if your'southward was named this, information technology will just automatically look for and use that binder when it starts up. If your globe is named something else, you will have to change the settings that tell Minecraft which folder to load the world information from.
Click on Game Settings
on the control panel, then click on the globe
tab on the blueish bar. Replace the word "world" with the exact name of your own world folder.
Congratulations! Your earth has been uploaded to your server!
If everything has been done correctly, the server should load your earth on it's adjacent startup. Connect into the game to make sure everything is fine, and if information technology is, you're fix to keep exploring on your own custom earth, now hosted on your Nodecraft Server!
